Scope:  CLTD covers concepts, tools and processes which illustrate the supply chain-wide system perspective of logistics.  CLTD emphasizes the microanalysis of logistics, distribution and transportation services. Managing a logistics systems requires oversights of transportation, order processing, inventory and the combination of warehousing, material handling and packaging.  All these components are integrated through a network of facilities with a goal to support customer service, manufacturing and purchasing operational requirements.

Who Should Attend?  Industry newcomers, logistics professionals, importers and exporters, 3PLs and 4PLs will learn the latest technologies and LTD trends.  Anyone active in daily management of warehousing or working within a multi-level distribution network will benefit from the best practices presented in this workshop, as will anyone involved in the transportation modes of trucking, rail, ocean, airline or pipeline operations.

Schedule: This workshop meets from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday during the week of February 12-16, 2018.  Registration closes January 29, 2018 in order to ship books to students two weeks before our first session.

Cost:  Students must bring highlighters and a calculator with square root function to every session.  Substantial pre-course Reading Assignments are required for every session, including the first.  Cost of $2795 Member/$3245 Nonmember includes tuition and exam fee plus the following materials:

CPIM and CSCP attending this course will earn 35 Certification Maintenance points.

Meet Your Instructor: Irvin Varkonyi, MBA,CSCP, CLTD, PLog

Irvin is President of Supply Chain Operations Preparedness Education (SCOPE). Three decades of experience in air transportation and logistics are integrated into his classes for undergraduate and graduate students as well as his adult learners. Irvin holds adjunct faculty positions with American Public University, George Mason University’s School of Public Policy, and Northern Virginia Community College.

Mr. Varkonyi has spoken extensively at national conferences for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, APICS, ASIS, Eyefortransport, International Cargo Security Council, Old Dominion University and the Heritage Foundation. Mr. Varkonyi holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He is an APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional, is also Certified in Logistics, Transportation & Distribution, and is a Professional Logistician from the Logistics Institute.
