GE Teams Use CPFR Forecasting Methods to Build 6 Ft. Freestanding Towers in 6 Minutes
Master Planning of Resource (MPR) student teams at GE used collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) forecasting methods to construct six feet tall freestanding towers in only six minutes.
The demonstrations took place during our onsite course that ended on February 2, 2017. This Tower Exercise is one of dozens of interactive exercises developed by our instructor team to enhance APICS curricula and increase learning retention. Four of our 17 students have already passed the MPR exam!

Nestlé USA, a subsidiary of Nestlé S.A., a leading global nutrition, health and wellness company, announced that it will transition its corporate headquarters to Arlington County, Virginia starting later this year. The company expects to bring approximately 750 jobs to the Washington, D.C. area with this transition.

He has over 40 years of experience in the fields of operations management and supply chain management. Kaplan has agreed to host APICS training events at both facilities. Four UMD Teams Head to Case Competition This Month
We are SO proud to share the news that at 2017's annual Mid Atlantic District's (MAD) Student Case Competition being held in Pittsburgh February 25-26, four of the five semifinal teams are coming from UMD's College Park graduate school!
Our four teams pictured below will compete in the third of three 2-hour online rounds using The Fresh Connection's rigorous supply chain simulation game. They will then write a 3-page synopsis of their team's strategies which will be scored by a panel of 3 judges. On Saturday afternoon the team will deliver a 10-minute oral presentation to an audience of over 50 APICS professionals and university professors. This presentation is likewise scored by a separate panel of 3 judges. Scores are combined to determine the District winner, whose team receives a check for $5,500 to support their travel to the International Student Case Competition Finals October 13-16 at the APICS 2017 Conference in San Antonio, TX.
